And I am happy to say I have 100 pieces of it! New coins to fill our pockets this new year!!

La Union Boys

Vic and I spent our first Christmas together in La Union. The laid back Christmas celebration was something new and different from the Christmas' I had in Sucat. BUT I am not posting about that in this blog. Not yet, that can be done in the coming days. This blog is actually about the La Union boys (Vic's nephews) I celebrated Christmas with and my  new-found passion (naks passion agad!) and love for photography. I was happy to meet this boys and enjoyed taking pictures of them too! ^___________^

Aila's First Semester!

Aila, our baby sister is already done with her first semester! Yeiy! Our little princess has learned so much from school. She knows the alphabet and recognizes letters. One time Vic was wearing his fave shirt and Aila said "Ate babasahin ko yan" (pointing at Vic's shirt) and she says "N-I-K-E"  that simple thing made me smile! She also knows how to count, sing our national anthem, recognizes colors and shapes to name a few! She already knows how to add numbers using her fingers too (I thought her that!) and a few weeks ago Mom was asking her whats the job of a doctor, nurse, fireman, policeman, fisherman etc. and she knows them all!!! That was so nice! Just knowing she learned a lot from school makes me forget the mad days/nights during homework time (she drives mom and I with her constant chatter and complaints). Money spent for her early education is money well spent! Well spent indeed! ^______^

The cute girl with pigtails and headband is Aila! Cute right???

My baby sister is the cutest! ^______^

I uploaded Aila's Narrative report. It was so funny because it is so her! Her teacher mentioned she invents name, well this is for real! Sometimes when you ask her what's her name, one of her favorite answer is this: "My name is Princess Barbie Aila Rica Cinderella MAPUTI" what's up with that???? Her name is just Aila Rica!!!! Funny right??? ^_______^

Summary of Aila's report card. This is so funny!

My First Half Mary!

I started running marathon last year. My first running buddy Diane who's in Australia right now by the way was the one who got me into it.(Miss you Diane!) The first run I did was 3km during our company event but my first official run was 5km for Avon last year. After few 5k runs and 10k runs I told my self, I should be able to run 21k before I turn 30! Little did I know I will fulfill that dream 2 years earlier!

My preparation....

During my first few runs, a friend of mine told me "respect the distance" that's why I did prepare for the run. I run 9k to10k  twice a week for the whole month of Ocober and seek advice from more experienced runners I know. Hubby always urged me to eat bananas few days before the run and forced me to sleep early too! I can say all this made me ready. ^____^

My constant reminder at work!! ^_______^

21K experience....

First half of the half Mary....
My first goal was to run/jog nonstop for the whole 10k and then just walk in between after that. I ran the first 7km with my running buddy Sir Rexis (my boss) but ask him to run ahead of me after that. I was pressured to run with his phase kasi, Hahahaha! While running alone I psyched my self with positive thoughts. I imagined my self all smiles at the finish line, kissing my first medal. wearing the finisher shirt and of course broadcasting it in facebook and blogging about the experience!During the run I always tell my self to run instead of walking "Hanggat kaya mo pa Aimee!" Firts half of the run, I stopped for water every after 2 kilometers but after the first half, I made water breaks every 1 kilometer. I did that because I didn't want to risk being dehydrated

The amazing 17K!
I was really surprised after the first half!  Usually after running 10K I'm already tired and take long walks in between. But then I was still running at 11k...12k..13k...14k..15k...16k till 17k!!!! I only slow down during water breaks and while taking the energy gel.... I was thanking God for every additional kilometer I was running after 10k! Not everyone can run that long and I felt blessed to do so.  Nagulat nalang ako I already run 17k.! That's the time I texted my camera man/ personal assistant/ coach/ hubby to wait for me at the finish line already! Hehehehe!!

The last leg to final glory!
The last 3 kilometers was dreadful! The sun is up and there's no trees or shade in the remaining route. It was just the runners, the road and the sun. It was super, super, super,  hot, I was parched and my legs felt tired. The drinking stations were no where to be found.. I was torn between running and walking but I choose jog and just walk for 60 seconds in between/ I did that because I really didnt want to prolong my stay under the heat! This was a the scary part of the run. I was really really parched!

Voice from above..
I was again up and running after a Marshall shouted "21K runners only 1km to go!" I managed to smile after hearing that. Really! Good thing I walked a little and reserved some steam for the finish line. I saw Vic from a far with his camera and I was so happy! I was shouting "YEAAAAAAAAH" on my way to the finish line and I didn't care if I looked a little crazy, I was just soooooo happy!

Man that was far but fuuuuuuuun!! 21K is no joke  and I am so proud of my self! Yahoo!!!! I used to think its impossible for me to run it but I did!! Nothing is impossible if you put your mind and heart to it! Syepre may kasamang dasal!!! ^_______^

L♥VeMeKnOTs' First Meet-up!

I'm feeling like a full pledge wedding supplier! Yipee!!!! I just made my first meet-up delivery and it was fun! I made two deliveries tonight. Yup, TWO couples!!!! The first was with Cathy and Jess. They were both nice and such a lovely couple. It seems that we've known each other for a long time even though we just met. No dull moment during the meet-up and even Vic finds Jess cool too! They were both mabait na hubby kasi! Hehehehe! They are always smiling and just like a breath of fresh air.  I'm happy coz they both love the deliveries but happier because they were client turned into friends!!!

Cath ♥ Jess - Lovely couple!!

Second couple was my college classmate and schoolmate Megz and Louie! I was so surprise when I saw Megz! She was so purty!!!! ^_______^ She became more pretty talaga! She was blooming as well as Louie! Great indication that they were enjoying the wedding preps! Ganun talaga siguro when you are marrying the right person for all the right reasons. Glowing sila both rather than stressed! Hehehehe.. They were a couple since our last year in college (panahon pa ni Kopongkopong) but it was my first time to hangout with them together. They do compliment each other, as for my opinion and gut feel, Hehehehe.. Pero bagay talaga sila, parang Yin Yang (complementary opposites that interact within a greater whole). Seems like a fun loving couple too. Nakakatawa si Louie, I thought serious type, he's funny din pala. Bagay talaga sila ni Megz! ^_____^ It was nice also when they ask Vic and I about married life.. Sorry Megz, mukang mas natuwa si Louie sa mga wife duties that I mentioned.. Hehehehe... It was fun catching up with them.. We have to do this again Megz!

Megz ♥ Louie - YinYang!

Final Notes:
Sabi ni Jason Mraz "I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend" daw.. Hmmm well then, this night I met four of the luckiest person,  for they are going to spend the rest of their lives with their best pals!  ^_______^ Cheesy!?

Congrats and best wishes to the new L♥VeMeKnOTs! couple
Megz+ Louie and Cath+Jess!

Thanks Vic for being the delivery man and photographer! ^_____^

Food Post: My Pako Salad! Finally!

I learned about Pako reading one of my favorite blog site. I was intrigued by how the blogger described how it tasted. The picture of her dish looks yummy too. I wanted to try it but i really don't know where I can get my hands on this green stuff. Failed finding it even in the vegetable stalls in Quiapo market of even at the groceries at the shopping malls. But tonight I found them in Alabang! "Hinanap kita kung saan-saan, andyan ka lang pala sa tabi-tabi" Naks parang pag ibig... GULAY lang naman! Hahahahah!!!

After searching the net for recipes, I came up with my version!

Amai's Paco Salad

Ingredients:
  • Paco Leaves ( One bundle is P10)
  • Onions
  • Tomato
  • Salted Egg (Itlog na Pula)
  • Vinegar and Fish Sauce
Blanched Paco leaves and remove from the ice bath. Drain it and remove excess water and set aside. Slice the the tomato, salted egg and onions thinly then add to the Paco leaves. Throw in few teaspoon of fish sauce, vinegar and add in pepper!

My Verdict: Hmmmm... So-so... I'm not crazy about it but its salad and I'm on a diet! So its good enough... Or maybe hindi lang ganun kasarap yung version ko! Hahahaha!  ^_________^

Sunday gone too soon

Spent the whole (almost) Sunday sleeping. I woke up 12:00pm, had lunch, watched cartoons, felt sleepy again, slept and woke up 6:00pm.. Well rested ey! Hahahaha!

Relaxed and energized, I did my obligations as a wife to my dear hubby! I actually bought broccoli and asparagus from Quipo yesterday so I decided to cook that for hubby.

I call this dish, Beef and Greens Ala Aimee!!!

How to make it?
Slowly boil the beef strips. You have to add a little seasoning to the water because you will use this later as a broth, my choice is Maggie Magic Sarap and pinch of Ajinomoto MSG. After the beef is cooked, separate the beef from the broth and save for later. Saute the beef strips in butter and olive oil with minced garlic and onions. Add the the broccoli and asparagus and stir fry! Throw in some oyster sauce and then the broth. In a separate bowl mix a few teaspoons of baking powder and cold water, stir it well and then add it to the pot. This will make the sauce thicker and yummier!!

It's super yum on top of a steaming white rice!

Yum!

And by the way, can you see how much vibrant the pictures are? Well hubby got his new toy and I got us new curtains.. LV curtains for our room, got this from my trip to "Divilandia"!

I had fun sleeping and cooking but I feel Sunday is gone too soon.. I want more petiks time with hubby and with the tv too! Haaaaaaaay, see you next week Sunday, I will definitely miss you!
